Empty Lunch Box Day

The volunteer readers were happy to help with
 the lunch making.

Mandarines and apples had their place in the healthy lunch box.

It was awesome to come back to class with a  lunchbox filled with healthy rolls, fruit, a museli bar
 and milk.

Mr Hendricks, our principal was happy to
promote  tomatoes to the students. There were lots of takers
.

Tackling the Warriors

How many of you had the chance of coaching with celebrities?  Well Our school was very lucky to have the Warriors come to our school and teach us some of their tricks.
I enjoyed learning how to pass the ball  when the other side is blocking you. I also enjoyed tackling them really hard. We also  were challenged to catch the ball with one hand, and that was very difficult. I wish that they can come back again.

Hockey Rocks

I really enjoy dribbling the hockey ball and most of the times I try long range. My teacher always tells me that he likes how I keep my stick low when I shoot. I think it's important to do that because someone could get hurt if we swing the stick in the air.
I am getting better every time we have hockey practice.

Hockey is fun

This term our sport focus is hockey. We were very excited to learn to play hockey because we had not done it before.  We began by learning how to hold the hockey stick and also how to move the ball to our partner. A warm up game called rob the nest was fun. At the end we challenged others to shoot for goals and that was really challenging.

Honor's Writing Award

In the past, I did not like writing. Whenever Mr. Naidoo gave us a writing task, I was always grumpy because I just hated writing. Mr. Naidoo did lots of writing in small bits like paragraph writing using the hamburger model and I enjoyed that. I also liked the speed writing of sentences. We have also been learning lots of new vocabulary. I gradually became more confident and I actually started enjoying writing. I was thrilled when I received the Boow Award for the much improved writer in the class. I think  it had a lot to do with my attitude. If I can do it, anyone can.

Honor

You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink

I added a picture to this proverb. I think it's a great proverb for students, They need to know that teachers can give them the best advice and show them what to do, but cannot do the work for them.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch

Lots of people decide the final score or result before the event. This can be disappointing , because the score may not turn out the way you like it. It's  better to be patient and wait for the end and then celebrate, rather than celebrating before the win.
