Fractions game

My teacher has found a fantastic fun fractions game.
I enjoy playing this game and it can teach kids about fractions.
This game is called Shape Fractions , and it may be hard to control the lines at start ,until you play it a lot it  becomes easy. There are different shapes you can do and at the bottom it tells you what fraction to draw on the shape. As I said in my second sentence I really enjoy this game ad I hope you enjoy the game.

Below is some picture of the game.

Toby's Waitangi Picture

A few days ago room 11 learned about the Treaty of Waitangi as well as the history of New Zealand wars. We choose a part of the story to illustrate and thereafter we had to write an interesting sentence that matched  our illustration. I chose to illustrate Captain Cook's ship, the Endeavor.

Simple Machines - A Manaiakalani Film Festival entry

In Room 12 this year, we explored how simple machines make our tasks easier to perform.  We looked at the 6 different types of simple machines, and experimented with them to see how they work, and how they reduce our work load.  We also had fun riding the machines we made!

Drakequin learns to play Netball

Our whole class was excited to play netball today. When it was time, we got into our lines and went to the court. There were two coaches and they told us that they were going to teach us for 8 weeks. We learnt how to do the chest pass, the overhead and under roll pass, and the shoulder pass too. We had fun and everyone enjoyed playing netball. We all had a turn on the ball and I had fun catching and passing the ball. I like playing netball and I wish I could play netball everyday.

Using our Blogs to share our learning

Room 12 loves reading

Today, for the first time in Room 12, we logged into our Google accounts. We practiced logging in with our user name and password. We also opened a doc called speed test to see how quickly we could all log in and open a doc.
Next week we will be learning to create our own docs, so we can share our learning on our class blog.
