Simple Machines - A Manaiakalani Film Festival entry


In Room 12 this year, we explored how simple machines make our tasks easier to perform.  We looked at the 6 different types of simple machines, and experimented with them to see how they work, and how they reduce our work load.  We also had fun riding the machines we made!

    When I saw your movie in the Manaiakalani film festival, I was surprised of how much work your class put into this during the process. This movie is a helpful tool not only because it was funny but because students from around the world could benefit from it. Well done guys!

    I adore the background music used in the movie. The dialogue is also entertaining which really drawed me into the movie. When I watched this it brought me back to when I was making my simple machine, pulley. Is there any simple machines that you use frequently?

    I really loved your movie because you explained what a simple machine was how they are used but in a funny and exciting way. My favourite part was deffinetly JJ in the car and the getting a $100, 000 ticket!!! Don't you thing that is a bit much?

    I liked the movie because the background song was cool when they were moving the box full of rocks and the glasses on Tukariri too.I also liked the part when they were doing the Simple Machines part but mostly the part when the police came and caught John and gave him a ticket.Also it was cool and funny too.

    Hi my name is papiloti and I liked the simple machines movie because It is funny and everyone is talented. Some of the Rm6 and rm8 kids are also cool and funny. My favourite part was Rm8 and Rm6 doing basketball and soccer.

    Your movie has a very great impact on a lot of students. While watching your wonderful movie I had a blast! Room 8 and I have just finished writing our speeches on simple machines, Probably your movie caregiver others information about simple machines and they put it into their speech.     I really like your movie is was so funny. Watching this made me think of when I helped your teacher move a heavy object with alot of boys. Using a simple machine (lever). Did you know that a lever can lift me up I am so heavy did you know how it lifted me up?

    This funny video made by room 12 was really cool and funny for me and it reminds me when I was at my Nans beach and I tried to pick up a big rock but it was too heavy. Where did you buy the puller circle to pull up the crayons because I would like to make a simple machine. I enjoyed your video very much.
