A lever
If you're wondering what a lever is its a useful equipment used to lift heavy loads. First things first you'll need a fulcrum under your lever, then get your heavy load. If it's hard to get your heavy load on your lever all you do is put your lever under your fulcrum then push like your digging, it will be much easier than spending 10 minutes trying to get your heavy load on. Once you get your heavy load on put your fulcrum under your lever but closer because it will be easy to lift. Finally, on the other side of the lever you put effort into it to lift, I hope this helps if you're trying to lift heavy loads.

The rabbit and the cheetah race
The rabbit and the cheetah
One quiet day the animals were talking among themselves when the cheetah came running out of the long grass. He started screaming “ I’m the fastest in the land!” “ No one would dare to race me,” he boasted.
When the rabbits heard this from their borrow, one of them came out and said “ I’m tired of hearing you scream every day!” he said. So he hopped out of his borrow and challenged him.
The cheetah laughed and said that he was the slowest in the land and he wouldn’t dare to face him. The rabbit bit his tongue and said “ bet” so all the animals gathered around them. The squirrel drew a line with his nail and backed away. Upon the tree, there was an owl cheering for the rabbit. The owl said, “ on my mark, you run, 3 2 1 GO!” The cheetah took off and the rabbit jumped around. When the cheetah looked back he couldn’t see the rabbit. The cheetah stopped and took a nap underneath a big oat tree. The rabbit continued hopping around when 2 little mice came and told the rabbit “ the cheetah fell asleep under the big oat tree”.
The rabbit quietly ran past the cheetah and continued the race. All the animals were cheering for the rabbit, the cheetah heard the cheering and started running the fastest. The cheetah finally saw the rabbit and thought to himself that he could still make it. All the animals saw the cheetah and told the rabbit, the rabbit quickly jumped on the line while the cheetah just missed it. The animals couldn’t believe their eyes, they kept on cheering for the rabbit. The cheetah ran away embarrassed and was never seen screaming he was the fastest in the land.
Moral of the story: It is better to fail to try than to try and fail. The cheetah was on the lead but got so cocky that he fell asleep under the tree. The rabbit continued that he was able to win the race rather than to fail and try.

Mothers' Day
Mothers’ day is a special day where all mothers’ are recognised on this one day each year. People across the globe usually make breakfast, lunch and dinner or go out somewhere to eat or buy gifts for their mums. We celebrate mothers’ day and giving them cards, flowers and even chocolate. Mothers’ day is good for mothers’ around the world because these hard working mothers’ need a good rest because they do a lot of things for us and it's time to owe them back.
On mothers’ day I made stuffing for dinner and roast chicken beside with some yummy veggies, I also did the dishes for her too. Before mothers’ day we all went to Sylvia Park and bought my mum a purse. Mothers’ day is special like fathers’ day too, I suggest helping family members and your parents. Even if it's not Mothers’ day or Fathers day it doesn't matter, always help.

Our sailing experience
This is us when we first put on our sailing suit and the first time meeting them.
Then this is us when we went into the water our gear on and sailing on the little boats.
This is some of the kids playing a game where you have to throw the tennis balls and the boat that gets the most wins.
This is the paper we got to learn how to tie ropes on the boat.

On March the 15th 2021, rooms 11 and 10 went sailing at Royal Akarana Yacht Club. We took a bus there and got full of excitement. When we got there we saw 2 ladies that greeted us and led us into the room. The 2 ladies' names were Kim and Shelly. Shelly was the person who had let us come and try to sail.
They told us how it was going to work and that if any of us needed help or directions of where to go just ask them. We then got to eat and couldn’t wait to start sailing. We were all numbered into our group and we needed to wear some duck shoes because there were some really sharp oysters on the rocks, and we needed to be careful.
When we finished eating our lunch we got into a life jacket and wore a thin jumper underneath it. We then went outside and there were 4 adults waiting outside for us, their names were Lewis, Rebecca, Jamie, and Nick. 2 of them taught us how the boat works and that we will rotate every 30 minutes. The groups were up to 3, we each got into our group anxious if we would flip over the boat and do a great job at sailing.
Group 1 got to go into the small boats, group 2 got to go into the big boats, and group 3 got to go and stay inside and learn how to tie ropes. Going onto the boat made everyone worry if it would be easy for it to flip over. After 30 minutes had passed we rotated, group 1 would go into the big boats, group 2 would go inside to learn how to tie ropes, and group 3 would go into the small boats.
After another 30 minutes would pass we would go inside to grab our lunch and eat for about 15 to 20 minutes. The last rotation was that group 1 would stay inside to learn to tie ropes, group 2 would go into the small boats, and group 3 would go into the big boats.
Rebecca was teaching group 1 how to tie ropes and gave them some challenges like tying to ropes behind your back or tying it with your feet. After the last 30 minutes passed we got to have a warm shower in the bathrooms.
Having an experience of sailing was fun and at the same time scary. But rooms 11 and 10 proved that you can always put your best foot down, and try something new.
The life cycle of Inanga

This is the inanga life cycle. First, the adult inanga lays whitebait eggs, next the whitebait eggs grow into larvae. They become whitebait. Finally, they are Inanga and they do the same. Whitebait only lives for about 1 or 2 years but they can’t pass 3 years.

When we got there we all umped with excitement and jumped out of the car. We meet all 10 students and had to do a challenge before we started cooking. We had to see who was the oldest out of all of us and who was the youngest out of all of us.
We had to make contact with each other, and all of us were scared until my legs started walking. I made contact then I just got good at using my hands and talking to them.
We started to get into 3 groups and go and wash our hands. We made sushi with the help of 1 of the teachers at Glen Taylor.
That was so fun there I couldn't wait o go back. I can't wait! I love Glen Taylor School!

The haunted forest
Chapter one
One quiet night there were 3 girls, and their names were Briana, Ava, and Madison. They were on zoom and they hated being at home so they wanted to do something exciting. So Ava came up with a plan so we wouldn’t get bored at home. The next night Ava sent us the address and we all meet up.
Briana brought some snacks and Madison brought a phone so we don’t get lost. Briana and Ava got mad at Madison because all she wanted to do was text her other friends. Ava then told us to follow her into the forest. Madison refused to
go in so she continued to text. Briana then got goosebumps and asked Ava“ is this a safe idea?” she asked.
Ava then got Madison to go with them inside the forest. When they got further in the forest Madison then lost connection and screamed. We all looked back and asked what happened? She then dropped down onto her knees and said “ I have no service!” We then sighed at her and told her to get up and to stop being a drama queen. After a while Briana finally said “ Maybe we should go this way” so we listened to her. We then got to the end of the cliff and saw the moon. Briana suddenly howled weirdly and ran away. We then saw something move past really fast and got really scared. Madison then ran away and left Ava all by herself. Ava then said “ Where are you? I’m not scared of you,come out!” After 1 minute of award silence Briana finally came back but was playing up. Then she was running around them and was speaking in a weird language. After all of the monsters and spirits came and surrounded the girls. Then they ran in fear screaming. After running they were tired and got lost so they fell asleep. After a while they heard siren noises and woke up, the police surrounded them.
The reporters kept on asking so many questions, I then felt a weird feeling that Briana was staring me down. The police called our mums and felt so relieved when I saw her. They hadn’t found Madison yet, and I was soon getting worried.

Lost in the woods
On a Beautiful Day, 4 students were selected to participate in a camp. There was a teacher and her name was Mary, the children were excited about the camping trip. Their names were Nixon, Teagen, Jordan, and Ryan. Their trip was on the next day so they packed a lot of things because the trip was a week and the trip was somewhere in the woods. The next day they arrived at school then hopped in Mary’s white van. The 4 students noticed something in Mary’s car. They heard weird things at the back but they were too scared to go see. When they arrived there it was late, at 9.00pm. After that they came across a sign that said no trespassing, and the interesting thing was that we found an abandoned house not far from their camping site.
At around 5 have they heard a creepy sound so they peeked through the window. They couldn’t believe what they saw, they saw Mary taking out people from her car, “ wait a minute is that why we heard creepy sounds in Mary’s car” said Nixon. “ “Maybe that's it, this all makes sense now that's why she came with a white van”. “I don’t feel safe here, I think we should leave,” said Teagen. They weren’t safe but lucky they had a phone. The first thing they did was to call the police. They couldn’t believe what happened so they had to rush because it was so dangerous. When the police arrived they saw people full of blood on the floor, but they reached there on time because this man named Justin had a knife and stabbed Mary in the back straight away. All the children were shocked and shouted so loud for help and the police kept the children safe while the other policemen did their job. After they did their investigation they took the students back to their houses and arrested Justin for stabbing Mary but Justin explained what happened and the police let him go. All the kids were devastated at what they saw. When they arrived at their houses the policeman said they can’t go camping in the woods ever again because of the incident that recently happened. So Nixon, Teagen, Jordan, and Ryan listened to the policemen and never went camping in the woods again but they still went camping somewhere else. 10 years later, Nixon, Teagan, Jordan, and Ryan grew up and they all worked at Mai FM and they all lived a happy life. They all were happy with what they did as grown-ups because they all are successful.

Force and Motion
The motion simply is just movement but it needs force to make it move. If you get marble and put it on the carpet then it won't move if you put it on a table then it will move because there is a force moving the marble.Force means using energy to do work. Push and pulling is doing work. Motion is the change of an object because of a force.
