On March the 15th 2021, rooms 11 and 10 went sailing at Royal Akarana Yacht Club. We took a bus there and got full of excitement. When we got there we saw 2 ladies that greeted us and led us into the room. The 2 ladies' names were Kim and Shelly. Shelly was the person who had let us come and try to sail.
They told us how it was going to work and that if any of us needed help or directions of where to go just ask them. We then got to eat and couldn’t wait to start sailing. We were all numbered into our group and we needed to wear some duck shoes because there were some really sharp oysters on the rocks, and we needed to be careful.
When we finished eating our lunch we got into a life jacket and wore a thin jumper underneath it. We then went outside and there were 4 adults waiting outside for us, their names were Lewis, Rebecca, Jamie, and Nick. 2 of them taught us how the boat works and that we will rotate every 30 minutes. The groups were up to 3, we each got into our group anxious if we would flip over the boat and do a great job at sailing.
Group 1 got to go into the small boats, group 2 got to go into the big boats, and group 3 got to go and stay inside and learn how to tie ropes. Going onto the boat made everyone worry if it would be easy for it to flip over. After 30 minutes had passed we rotated, group 1 would go into the big boats, group 2 would go inside to learn how to tie ropes, and group 3 would go into the small boats.
After another 30 minutes would pass we would go inside to grab our lunch and eat for about 15 to 20 minutes. The last rotation was that group 1 would stay inside to learn to tie ropes, group 2 would go into the small boats, and group 3 would go into the big boats.
Rebecca was teaching group 1 how to tie ropes and gave them some challenges like tying to ropes behind your back or tying it with your feet. After the last 30 minutes passed we got to have a warm shower in the bathrooms.
Having an experience of sailing was fun and at the same time scary. But rooms 11 and 10 proved that you can always put your best foot down, and try something new.
Life Cycle Of Inanga
This is the inanga life cycle. First, the adult inanga lays whitebait eggs, next the whitebait eggs grow into larvae. They become whitebait. Finally, they are Inanga and they do the same. Whitebait only lives for about 1 or 2 years but they can’t pass 3 years.
Chapter one
One quiet night there were 3 girls, and their names were Briana, Ava, and Madison. They were on zoom and they hated being at home so they wanted to do something exciting. So Ava came up with a plan so we wouldn’t get bored at home. The next night Ava sent us the address and we all meet up.
Briana brought some snacks and Madison brought a phone so we don’t get lost. Briana and Ava got mad at Madison because all she wanted to do was text her other friends. Ava then told us to follow her into the forest. Madison refused to
Ava then got Madison to go with them inside the forest. When they got further in the forest Madison then lost connection and screamed. We all looked back and asked what happened? She then dropped down onto her knees and said “ I have no service!” We then sighed at her and told her to get up and to stop being a drama queen. After a while Briana finally said “ Maybe we should go this way” so we listened to her. We then got to the end of the cliff and saw the moon. Briana suddenly howled weirdly and ran away. We then saw something move past really fast and got really scared. Madison then ran away and left Ava all by herself. Ava then said “ Where are you? I’m not scared of you,come out!” After 1 minute of award silence Briana finally came back but was playing up. Then she was running around them and was speaking in a weird language. After all of the monsters and spirits came and surrounded the girls. Then they ran in fear screaming. After running they were tired and got lost so they fell asleep. After a while they heard siren noises and woke up, the police surrounded them.
The reporters kept on asking so many questions, I then felt a weird feeling that Briana was staring me down. The police called our mums and felt so relieved when I saw her. They hadn’t found Madison yet, and I was soon getting worried.
